Wuhai city of Inner Mongolia mined a total 39.58 million tonnes of raw coal in the first three quarters, increasing 10.30% over the same period last year, showed data from Wuhai Municipal Bureau of Statistics.
Of this, Haibowan district produced 15.87 million tonnes, rising 27.87% year on year, accounting for 40.08%. Raw coal output of Hainan district reached 14.26 million tonnes, up 33.67% over the same period last year, accounting for 36.02%. Wuda district's raw coal output dropped 26.18% from the year-prior level, reaching 9.46 million tonnes during January-September, accounting for 23.89%.
Due to reduced orders and problems of coal mining seams, Wuhai's raw coal production slid 16.79% year on year to 3.82 million tonnes in September, according to the bureau.
The output data refers to coal miners with annual main business income above 20 million yuan ($2.98 million) in the city.
